Apple’s AR Headset Launch In 2022 Will Create Huge AR Porn Industry

The most eagerly anticipated event in the world of augmented reality is the long teased announcement of the first AR headset from Apple. With an AR headset from that tech giant on the market, you can be sure that a market for AR porn will instantly explode, with an AR porn industry quick to follow, perhaps rivaling today’s plethora of VR porn sites within a year or two. Rumors continue to circulate regarding the likely release date of the Apple headset, as well as its announcement. The latest news is that a respected insider remains adamant that the headset will be released in 2022. What has apparently been holding back the release is a shortage of the right components, particularly in the lens of the headset. That looks set to clear in the next year.

Indeed, the ever-reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has this week reiterated his previous claim that Apple will release an AR or mixed-reality headset as early as next year, following research into the state of the company’s supply chain.

Kuo reports, among other things, that there has been fierce price competition for the components that will be used in the headset. But he notes that lens prices are expected to stabilise from the second quarter of 2021, and that the availability of the right kind of lens will improve from the second half of 2021 onwards,

It should be made clear that although the forthcoming (hopefully) Apple headset is often described as AR, it is expected to have more virtual reality capabilities than augmented reality, and would be better termed a ‘mixed-reality’ headset. However, as long as it has basic AR features, then it should certainly be able to play the type of AR porn currently available from sites such as Naughty America and Badoink, and would be a massive game changer in that regard. As for the likely official announcement by Apple of the headset, well a 2022 release would still mean that it’s quite possible or even likely that they will reveal details of it at their developer’s conference next month (June 2021). Apple will one asssumes want to give developers a year or so to build content for the headset, ready for its eventual release.
