The augmented reality porn revolution may be upon as sooner than thought. Chinese company Nreal will be making available their lightweight AR glasses to the American and European markets as early as this spring. As well as being light, the glasses look reasonably stylish too. The glasses have been on sale in South Korea and Japan since last summer, and have proven to be a success. Judging from the reception there, as well as demos of the glasses on YouTube, these first real mass market AR specs should easily be able to display the holographic girls of pioneering AR porn sites such as BadoinkAR and Naughty America Strip Club. The only drawback is that the glasses do need to be tethered to your smartphone. However, it’s still going to represent a big improvement on having to hold your smartphone up to view AR content, as well as the rumoured price tag of around $670 being much cheaper than existing headsets such as the HoloLens or the Magic Leap, which are also much bulkier and still more like headsets than glasses.
And Nreal might not be having it all their own way in 2021 either. Similar lightweight AR glasses are in the works from Big Tech companies including Apple and Samsung, although potential release dates for these range from this year to 2023. Facebook are confirmed to be bringing out a pair of ‘smart glasses’ in the next few months, although the company has been keen to downplay any true augmented reality capabilities that the specs will have.
I caught a good recent summary of what might be happening in the AR glasses market this year in the following YouTube video.
I’m sure you’ll agree that after a long wait, things are starting to look really exciting for augmented reality porn. By this summer, we could have the first mass market AR glasses, with even more advanced models from the likes of Samsung and Apple on the way. Badoink, which is one of the biggest and oldest VR porn sites, should have their AR porn site in full working mode by then. And hopefully, we will see at least one or two other new AR sites joining them too.
